Not Just In English Anymore!

Some fine folks have translated Linux Administration: A Beginners Guide into various languages. There have also been local printings done in other countries as well which makes the books affordable on a regional basis.

Unfortunately, I don't make much money on international sales. Last time I got a royalty check, I broke US$10 for what probably amounts to several thousand books being sold. However, the folks who do the translating and printing still need to eat so please make sure you get a legit copy. If you don't feed the translators, they stop translating and that's bad for all of us.

Here are the translations that I know of...

You can probably find out more about it from McGraw Hill Taiwan.
The chinese version. From my (limited) understanding of the language, this is actually a Taiwanese which is slightly different in spoken terms of should read identically in simplified Chinese. You can see a larger version of the cover here and the dedication from the book here.
The Czech version. I finally got a copy of this myself which looks great on my bookshelf. After all, I can't read anything in the book aside from the acronyms. You can purchase this online at http://www.vltava.cz.
The Polish version. This is something that I unfortunately have only seen on the web. Every once in a while I bug my editor to hunt me down a copy. (Seems odd buying my own book, but I just might have to do that.) From the few web sites I've found selling the book, it seems to be doing well enough. Hopefully the translation works out. You can find this book at http://www.edition2000.com.pl.
The Spanish version. A point of clarification is that this is the Spain spanish version, not the Mexico spanish version. What are the differences? I don't know really, I've just been told that they are different. (Call me a typical American, I guess...) I believe that you can find it on sale at http://www.ciberdroide.com.
The english version is also available in India through Tata McGraw-Hill. It is likely printed in India so the paper feel will different than the US version, however the list price in India is Rs. 495 which is considerably lower than the US list price of $39.95 (est. Rs. 2000). You can see more about it at Tata McGraw-Hill's Site.
The Portugese translation is based on the third edition. I love these new translations, especially when I don't hear about it from my publisher. This version is available online at http://www.linuxmall.com.br.
